Tender Loving Care Daycare Center

Tender Loving Care (TLC for short), a ministry of Riverview Baptist Church, opened their doors in 2000. They are a Christian daycare center serving children ages 6 months to 12 years old. TLC can  serve 129 children, but they have openings to share more love in all classrooms. TLC has many loving, caring individuals that comprise the staff. TLC’s director is Angela Elliott. She has been with TLC for six years, and has over 12 years of managerial experience. She is a graduate of the Practical Nursing Program at Giles Tech Center, and holds a current license in Virginia for LPN.

In the infants to one-year-old class, they have Ann Buckland, Tina Steele, Abi Stafford, and Mary Shupe providing excellent care for the little ones. In the one-year-old class, they have Fern Echols and Charity Hurley there to help the children as they learn to walk and talk. In the two-year-old class, they have teacher Angel Elliott, and helper Emily Jarrells who do a wonderful job of keeping the children moving in their daily activities at the center.  In the three year old class, they have teacher Amanda Offenberger and assistant Beth Jones.  The four year old class, Mrs. Barbara Carter is the teacher and Victoria Thorne is the helper.  The school age children are supervised by Brooke Kersey and Beth Johnson.

The summer is also very busy as TLC offers a very active summer program. Some of their activities this summer have included swimming, hiking, and wading. And rainy days are not a challenge for them. They provide trips to movie theaters, play indoor sports, and challenge each other to games on a Wii game system. TLC also offers an after school program for school age children during the school year, also with many planned activities.
